Wisconsin Report Shows Importance of Informing Students of Voting Rights

A Wisconsin Election Protection report released Wednesday demonstrates the need to protect students’ voting rights by implementing reforms from the CVP toolkit. The report examines election administration issues during the state’s recall election on June 5, 2012. A section of the report highlights the effect on students of the recent extension of the residency requirement from 10 to 28 days. It describes the following stories:

The recent passage of voter ID laws throughout the U.S. has created a greater need for public information campaigns on college campuses to inform students of their voting rights. As Brianne Pfannensteil illustrates in the Kansas City Star, a voter ID law can create confusion for students even in a state like Kansas that allows the use of student IDs at the polls. 

CVP Partners with Campus Election Engagement Project

Campus Vote Project has expanded our efforts to get students out to vote thanks to a partnership with the Campus Election Engagement Program (CEEP). CEEP is a project founded by Paul Loeb, author of Soul of a Citizen and The Impossible Will Take a Little While.
