Carter Elliott

Lynchburg College 

Carter Elliott IV was born and raised in Lynchburg, Virginia and attends Lynchburg College as a double major in political science and history. At Lynchburg College, Carter is involved in many things including his social fraternity Phi Kappa Tau, his on campus job with the Office of Community Involvement, and he is President of a political organization on campus. Carter has been politically involved since a very young age working on many campaigns and tagging along with his grandfather Carter Elliott Jr. to many political events.

Chad Mitchell

Piedmont Virginia Community College

Chad Mitchell is in his first year at PVCC. He is studying liberal arts and plans to transfer to UVA and major in political science. He graduated from Fluvanna County High School in 2006 and has just decided to go to college at age 29. In high school he played tenor drums in the marching band and won first place drumline. He was also a drummer for several local rock bands. Since 2016, he has volunteered for a presidential primary race, gubernatorial primary
race, and currently volunteers for his local House of Delegates candidate. He believes strongly in helping to create a well informed and active electorate. Chad plans to work in campaigns or as part of an administration in the future.

Madeline Doane

Virginia Commonwealth University

Madeline Doane is from Fairfax, Virginia. She is majoring in political science and sociology at Virginia Commonwealth University. In the fall of 2017, she interned for the Virginia League of Conservation Voters and the Ralph Northam Campaign, finding her passion for democratic engagement and amplifying the voices of her community members. She is currently developing a Public Policy Group to increase interaction between political science students, faculty members, and local politicians. She is passionate about educating others on the importance of political involvement and making their voices heard. She is thrilled to be a part of the Campus Vote Project team!


Angelo Jones

Norfolk State University 

Angelo is from Fredericksburg, VA and graduated from Courtland High School. From there Angelo enlisted in the United States Army where he received an Associate’s Degree in General Studies from Central Texas College. Angelo is currently a student at Norfolk State University working toward a degree in political science. Angelo wants to pursue a law degree at the University of Georgia after completion of his undergraduate degree. Angelo volunteers as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) member who advocates for children in unfortunate life situations. Angelo wants to continue to volunteer as a CASA advocate and volunteer within the community.

Anna Connole

James Madison University

Anna Connole is from Falls Church City, VA and is now a member of the class of 2021 at James Madison University. She is pursuing degrees in both political science and communications with a concentration in advocacy studies. Apart from being a Democracy Fellow, she follows her passion for politics by being involved with the Student Government Association and volunteering with organizations such as Dukes Vote. Anna wants to remain close to Washington, D.C. after JMU to pursue a career in political work with a continued focus on providing equal access and opportunity to vote.

Kayla Enoch

James Madison University

Kayla Enoch is a rising senior at James Madison University. She is originally from Richmond, Virginia and is a political science major. She first became civically engaged during the 2016 presidential election, and since finding her passion, has taken advantage of every opportunity to get involved. As Fundraising Director of Virginia21 on JMU’s campus, she  represents issues important to millennials to state legislators, and is very excited to work with Campus Vote Project help people of her generation understand their votes matter.


Megan Leffler

Piedmont Virginia Community College

Megan is enrolled at Piedmont Virginia Community College and will be graduate with an Associate’s in Liberal Arts. She hopes to transfer to complete a degree in clinical psychology. She enjoys community service and spending time with her daughter and family. Her intentions in life are to impact as many people as possible and to make a huge difference in the world, even if it’s on a small scale.
